After nearly a 2 year wait, Rihanna fans finally got the first taste of #R8 back in January when the album's first single 'FourFiveSeconds' was released. The song features musical icons Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney. It was yet another totally unexpected direction for Rih and it was met with much criticism from a lot of fans. The song has still gone on to be a big hit for the trio, topping the charts in Australia and Scandinavia and going top 5 in both the UK and the US.
Last month, we got to hear another track from #R8, this time the urban bop 'Bitch Better Have My Money'. A track reminiscent of 'Pour It Up' from her last album, it was well received by critics and fans alike. It hasn't set the charts alight internationally, but it did become her 36th top 20 hit in the US! Rihanna performed the track live at the iHeartRadio music festival, which you can see below.
The long awaited 'Home' also saw it's release this year, after being delayed. Rihanna provides the voice for one of the main characters, Tip Tucci. She also provided three songs on the official soundtrack for the album, 'Towards The Sun', 'As Real As You & Me' and 'Dancing In The Dark'.
