Halfway through 2021, and onto my 2500th post, so I've added a couple more lists at the top of page 2:
- Songs with most weeks to date in the UK Top 100 while on SCR - Songs with most weeks in the UK Top 100 before first going to ACR both since the introduction of ACR in July 2017. The first of these top tens currently has a threshold of 31 weeks, which was more than I expected. I hadn't realised Leave A Light On had such a long third run on SCR, however it and Bruises will soon be knocked out by a song which is currently 'high' in the Top 100 once again. I've also expanded the very first list on the OP (Most weeks in total in the UK Singles Top 100) to a top 20. Once the next song reaches 100, I'll keep it at all songs with 100 weeks or more. |

Also added at the top of page 2:
- Songs with most weeks to date in the UK Top 40 while on SCR - Songs with most weeks in the UK Top 40 before first going to ACR both since the introduction of ACR in July 2017. Heat Waves is 4th in the former - for the Top 100 it is behind only Perfect. (3000th post) |

I was actually just about to post in the top 100 thread this week asking if 'most weeks in the top 100 without making the top 75' was one of the many records you'd worked out but thought I'd dig out this thread to answer that myself first - and I see you've beaten me to it in noticing MEDUZA et al.'s 'Bad Memories' with its now record matching run that you already quietly edited in here
It's a shame that song never took off more as I think it's my favourite thing they've released to date but I'll take this obscure record match as a consolation. |

Amongst other updates this week, Justin Bieber - Mistletoe equals the record of 34 weeks in the Top 75 without reaching the Top 20.

Oh that having such a lengthy run for a non top 20 hit went under the radar a bit. (Not unthinkable that it could eventually make the top 20 if it wins the playlist lottery since it is a fairly consistent annual top 40 visitor now but let's hope not as it's a bit crap).

Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over has, for now, matched the above record of 34 weeks Top 75.
Since my last post in this thread, I've noticed that Mumford & Sons didn't actually hold the records of most weeks in the Top 100 without reaching either the Top 20 or Top 30, with Little Lion Man and The Cave respectively, because Oasis - Supersonic had set both a higher bar of 60 weeks, amassed entirely in the 1990s. |

Worth noting that ACR pending (either due to declines or OCC intervention) Heat Waves is only 2 weeks behind My Way in terms of top 40 weeks, the most for a non-Christmas song. Although if Heat Waves doesn’t get there, I expect As It Was will

Alongside numerous updates this week, Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree now has the most weeks (17) in the Top 20 without reaching the Top 10. At the start of this month the record belonged to Idina Menzel - Let It Go with 16, then Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me got up to 18 before finally going Top 10 this week.

If Ari could do it eventually I'm sure Kelly will too one of these years!

Everything should be up to date again now!
This week, 'As It Was' sets a new record of 42 weeks in the Top 40 while on SCR from its three separate runs, while 'Would You (Go To Bed With Me)' and 'Evergreen' are now both among the five songs with most weeks Top 100 before first going to ACR. 'Mr Brightside' will likely overtake 'Someone You Loved' for most weeks in the Top 75 within the next couple of months. |
