Excellent entry from Addy! (aside though, I just discovered the other day when doing BJSC research that Christopher Von Deylen is just an alias of Schiller laugh.gif so nice recycling your own winning artist 2 contests later... whistle.gif)

John Williams / Archaellum - Reflections

A spring chicken in comparison to our other composers tonight, John Williams is best known from composing some of the all time greatest film scores, from being a studio pianist in the likes of To Kill a Mockingbird and Some Like It Hot in the 50s and 60s, to scoring for big budget blockbusters of Steven Spielberg, with Jaws, E.T and Jurassic Park and every becoming every millenial's hero with the Star Wars and Harry Potter themes. With this suggestion from danG, he has taken back to his earlier subtle piano roots.

The top of the scoreboard doesn't change, but it's inching ever close to doing so despite nothing for the top 2. Fields of Forever is beginning to emerge with a 12 here. Dan's ambient piano track is some way below for now, but could well be the silent stalker later on.

Next to perform...Hildegard Von Bingen

Hildegard Von Bingen / Justin Martin - Don't Go

A crucial figure in the sphere of German literature, politics and science, Hildegard Von Bingen when she was not having prophetic visions as a mystic, writing poems, being the magistra of the nuns, she wrote and composed more surviving chants for female choirs than any other composer and was named Doctor of the Church in 2012. Under the guidance of kth
, she has not only continued to snatch weaves, spill scalding tea and promoting the word of Dua Lipa, but also continued to experiment with music. Her entry here is the only one that uses a harp cheeseblock.png

Ooft, it's getting tight up top, another Mike Foyle and Keeno are in prime position, though Nils isn't giving it up yet. Kath is some way down, but is still some way off last as they've predicted, but how long will that hold up? This is also the first points to not include Lucine Feylon, I was genuinely wondering when that would end!

That didn't come at a great time for a commiseration for Nils as we have a new leader for the first time tonight as Keeno who has been picking up votes consistently, takes the lead with eternal bridesmaid Mike Foyle very close behind and Matt Bukovski now ties with the former leader.

Do feel free to actually enter this if I host again, coi, you're always a guest voter to my contests x tongue.gif

Next to perform, one of the contenders that has been slowly creeping up after a slow start, Claudio Monteverdi

Ah, my votes! I really enjoyed listening to these, glad Nils Frahm is doing so well despite narrowly missing my points. The top end of the scoreboard looking brilliant at the moment, more than happy to see Cosmic Creeper taking the lead! Fields of Forever and Apprehension both top five as well, epic trance tunes wub.gif

Claudio Monteverdi / Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix)

Going off to Italy now, Claudio Monteverdi was active in the late renaissance and was crucial in building the then very new genre of the opera, he also bought a modern 'secular' spin to church music. He has refrained from choral vocals this time, combining trance with classical piano and strings with some fairly modern instruments under the advice of photografdemon

being a part of this competition really puts me in the mood, awesome music, always THAT kind of atmosphere around the contest, decorations and stuff... you guys are the best hosts, one's better than the other, taking the contest to the level!
and here's how I feel after listening to every represented composer:

+12 [10/10]Justin Martin - Don't Go *_*
+10 [10/10] Etherwood - Hold Your Breath
+8 [10/10] Ivan Torrent ft. Irene Rodriguez - Skyborn
+7 [9/10] Nils Frahm - Says
+6 [9/10] Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix)
+5 [9/10] Venetian Snares - Masodik Galamb (what an exciting piece of...music! like it really grabbed my attention despite me being completely distant from IDM)
+4 [9/10] Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever
+3 [9/10] Keeno - Cosmic Creeper
+2 [8/10] Dam Swindle - Coffee in the Morning
+1 [8/10] Jacoo - The Moments We Shared…I Miss Them

Sorry guys, you're the best of those who missed the cut:
[8/10] Archaellum - Reflections
[8/10] Jeff van Dyck - Medieval Total War Soundtrack: Arab Battle 1
[8/10] Daler Mehndi - Bolo Ta Ra Ra
[8/10] A.R.D.I. - Army of Angels
[7/10] Klingande - Punga

51; George Friedric Handel / Keeno - Cosmic Creeper
49; Franz Schubert / Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix)
48; Robert Schumann / Nils Frahm - Says
45; Igor Stravinsky / Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever

I'm glad you liked this contest as photografdemon has made a good pick this time and is in the current top 5 along with the other classical trance entry and has a chance of the win thus far, the top remains extremely close with six points separating the top 4. Will things start to even out?

Next to perform, after a million years drought of votes...Richard Strauss

Richard Strauss / Party Pupils, MAX ft. Alna - Lonelier

Commonly mistaken for Johann Strauss (who couldn't make it this evening), this Strauss was a late German Romantic composer of the late 19th and early 20th century, he is best known for his symphonic poems and popularising opera in Germany with Salome and Der Roskenvalier. Under uhsting's guidance, He is going somewhat against type here with a sax lead track by a dolphin, it could be making a better impression...

As we approach the halfway point, we have a joint winner as Fields of Forever gets another 12 and ties with Cosmic Creeper. There's quite a lot of songs stuck at 29 and a gap is starting to form in that top 5, but who are some of them? thinking.gif

Also, eek, that is quite the drought that uhsting suffered after getting 7 on the first vote! I did appreciate the dolphin x
