Hello!
Welcome to the results thread for the first BuzzJack Unknown Pleasures contest. 26 people entered, 26 sets of votes were recieved. The first half of the results will commence in around half an hour and I shall complete the second half tonight, at around 19:00 after the Chart Show has finished. Any predictions? Where do you think your own song will finish (without revealing it, obviously)? Who sent the song you gave 15 points? |

I have absolutely NO idea who wins this! It ain't BJSC where pop > indie any day which makes it easier to predict, you're almost never wrong if you say that
I know almost for certain who sent one of the songs but that is it. LOL. |

I think I know which song has won this already to be honest. Judging from those who posted that they'd voted and judging from new entries in certain posters personal charts, it seemed pretty obvious that one song will have done really well.
Sadly it wasn't my entry!!! |

Ooh Young Blood? It's ONLY due to the fact it was also entered to BJSC

I'll be disappointed if Young Blood wins. It's got a good riff but it's hardly amazing and there are many more interesting songs in this competition.

HEALTH got a bit dull over the two week period that I've been listening to these tunes. It's more one dimensional that a few of the other songs.

I'm a big fan of the Young Blood track but I took other tracks in consideration first, over it. Lay Low and David Holmes are fantastic. hope they do well.

Well I've got to be honest I only played them in limited rotation (with my usual weekly chart playlist), but it didn't wear on me at all. I don't get what you mean by 1-D? That's just a dot isn't it. What were your thoughts on the Gauntlet Hair song Tony? |

I've discovered one AMAZING band through this, now i'm browsing their back catalogue which is AHHHH <3 But i wonder why the person who sent them didn't send anything from the band's latest album and chose the older song instead?

Obviously as host I know how all the songs have done, however I do love the David Holmes song. I think it's easily the best song I've discovered in the past couple of months! David FTW!

Gauntlet Hair reminded me of Animal Collective a bit.

I liked David Holmes - didn't really expect a track from him to sound like that.

So then, the first set of votes!!
I did open the contest up to people who didn't enter songs, who doesn't want to discover some fantastic music afterall! Only one person who didn't enter a song voted though, and that was NickF1, so thank you Nick! 01 - Who Knew 02 - Globus 03 - Lay Low 04 - HEALTH 05 - Veto 06 - Miriam Stockley 08 - New Politics 10 points - The Naked and Famous 12 points - BSBTRGDCLUB 15 points - Slagsmĺlsklubben An early lead for Slagsmĺlsklubben, and it's no surprise to see Nick giving high points to a song referencing Britney Spears! |

Well I-D means is a comparative description - less happens in HEALTH as the track goes on compared to stuff like The Kiss or Rosco, and even Sponsored by Destiny. I just felt like I wasn't being transported anywhere - metaphorically. |
