Amazing job as usual Tyler!
Thank you luciano i just got done!
Ive been working on it the past two hours
I'm glad to say GH:MP sold 730,000 copies in the UK, 585k in 2004 and 145k in 2005
oh ok i will add that
wow i never realised that In The Zone sold so much coz it had low positions
impressive figures tho
Wow she really isn't an album artist!
Her albums have done very well!
but i do agree that her singles are more popular!
But I'd love to sell 735,000 copies anyday, lol! Still I agree she did better with the singles, BOMT with 1 million, all the follow-ups more than 300k until DLMBTLTK and then "Toxic" and "Everytime" bothe selling 200k+
and to sell more than 200k now adays is REALLY good.
WOW! I had no idea In The Zone sold so much considering it's position
when it charted i think the top 16 albums that week all sold more than 100K so that is one reason...
Great stuff
thats where i put she charted Luciano i just said the top 16 albums all sold more than 100K in that week.
Amazing
oh ok!
Am I the only person that likes 'I love Rock N Roll'
i liked it! but i LORVE all her songs
me as well actually
ooo I never realised I was quite a britney fan
sales and certifications added to singles!
UK Sales: 234,000
I SWEAR everytimes sales were nowhere near that high
well thats what the site said...
Unfortunately is not right...
These are the corrections I'd do:
Everytime: 200,000
My Prerogative: 81,000
Do Somethin': 53,000
well i got this from this site i will change it though. But Luciano i know MP solld more than 100,000 because the first week it sold like 34,000 and then the next week like 28,000. and it stayed in the charts long enough to make atleast 100,000.
make sure dido fan doesnt come here to analyse
please let him come
I believe its only a matter of time
IS HE IN HERE
I WILL BAN HIM
oh no I just meant he'll probably find his way here soon
PLEASE assist him in here,
ooo I shall
Thats because they are haters they are jealous so they lie
what a great site you got the sales from
LOL Dan, it was nice
oops i did it again was a no.01 album i think
Really her album sales aren't really impressive in the UK.
Main posts updated with track listings and B In The Mix album info!
Great addition Dylan! But B In The Mix didn't chart in the UK
I thought it charted at #98 or something? I've mainly just seen it at Wikipedia so it could easily still be wrong.
You put number 8
I'm goign to put the trackilisting in the slanted font
whatever you call it
Why don´t you do the Singles & Albums Chart Runs for Worldwide Sales too?
^^^
It's in the American charts thread.
Oh, I thought it would be together, nice
LOL at your deleted comment about certifications, Kelly
BLESS, you are a HO so all is forgiven
I wonder where GM will chart in the UK...
It's a shame ITZ didn't peak higher since all her singles were good
GM INFO ADDED.
Sales added and track list fixed for Gimme More.
so is the Gimme More UK maxi-single available? has anyone found it?
Gimme More has probably already made it's peak on the charts but I could see it staying in the top ten for a while!
UK Midweek chart
Summary
SINGLES
1 Leona 66k
2 Take That 29k
3 Sugababes 11k
4 Britney 11k
looks like #3 will be the best it'll do...
oh well better than Slave 4 U.
She will get top 3, and 11k is pretty good for only 1 day of sales! She will probably manage around 60k!
#6 int end
It's only down 1 in the mids, though
I think it will have staying power...
Blackout #2 UK officially.
Track listing and peak added for Blackout.
And "Gimme More" has sold 73,000 in only 3 weeks
SALES and CHART POSITIONS updated for "GIMME MORE" and BLACKOUT.
Gimme More a non-mover this week and has surpassed sales of 100k!
Yay, i cant wait for Piece Of Me, i really hope it can bring the album back.
I think "Gimme More" will definitely surpass "Me Against The Music"'s singles sales, which goes on to show which is the strongest lead single out of the two.
I thought Blackout would've passed 100k by now, hopefully POM will bring it back to life. Gimme More is doing really good
Gimme more falls 12 places to 30 .
Blackout falls 10 places to 80.
Argh. Well hopefully it can start to regain some ground with POM starting to gain some ground...
Gimme more has dropped 23 places this week to 53
Lucy, is your sig from 'Heaven On Earth'?
52 52 Britney Spears Gimme more 123515
Gimme more is the 52nd best selling single of the year with total sales so far of 123,515 .
Piece Of Me is #69 in the UK today.
just saw that
That's a good start! Great news.
Updated.
Blackout moved up 5 spots this week to #78!
Oh yay !
Hopefully it will continue to rise!
I never realised so many of Britney's album peaked at #2. And 'In the Zone' being just #13 is quite shocking.
GIMME MORE has moved up 20 places on the UK Singles chart this week to #43!
PIECE OF ME has also risen to #46 this week!
43 63 11 Gimme More, Britney Spears | 3
46 69 2 Piece Of Me, Britney Spears | 46
Blackout has risen 13 places to #65 this week on the UK Albums chart!
65 78 09 Blackout, Britney Spears | 2
Thats fantastic b**ch!
Woah! Go Britney
Blackout has sold a total of 114,557 copies in the UK to date.
Not bad! Sales should keep rising with the new single too.
Thanks Jark
Blackout is now top 60 in the midweeks woo .
POM up to #19 on downloads alone!
Gimme More falls 2 places to #45 this week.
Blackout rises 7 spots on the album chart to #58.
CHART POSITIONS this week.
02 19 Piece Of Me
34 45 Gimme More
41 58 Blackout
All climbed
Massive 17 places climb for Piece Of Me! Well glad this is her 19th UK Top 10 single, 11 of them making it into the Top 3!
Blackout up to 28 in the U.K album charts this week.
All chart information updated!
Tyler, where are you getting your sales figures for Blackout and POM? I think you're rounding a bit on the higher side.
No, POM is way above 69k! It was at 65k last week and sold close to 15k this week.
Blackout was an estimation though.
Oh, I was going by what the music sales report stated for singles posted by Mikey. Maybe it's behind by a week. Are you sure POM was at 65,000 last week?
Updated.
My Prerogative has actually been certified silver, which means it has sold more then 200k!
Piece Of Me & Blackout updated.
Gimme More is Britney's 2nd longest running charting single in UK (18 weeks), only ...Baby One More time has spent more weeks than GM (22 weeks) xD
Your right, it just beat out Toxic by one week. I think POM could possible become her longest running single! It is on it's tenth week and is still in the top 15!
POM is still hanging in there only falling one spot this week on the chart! Blackout has fallen 8 spots this week to #55 which is expected until the gear up for a new single release.
Do you think Blackout will pass 200k?
I think it will be platinum by the end of the year, if they realease 4 singles as planed.
I agree. It should keep climbing up the charts when more singles are released.
EW DYLAN PUT THAT OTHER BOMT COVER BACK ON THEIR NOW. BLEH.
HEY. THAT'S THE ACTUAL SINGLE COVER. YOU WERE USING THE ALBUM COVER. WHAT A MONSTROSITY!
NU-UH. That's just the Japanese single cover
But it's the UK Chart Runs thread...
You used the wrong 'Sometimes' cover too.
But the covers are prettier.
POM still at 31 this week, and new entry at #36 for BTI .
Fabulous! POM has had the best endurance out of all her singles!
Updated.
Piece Of Me down 5 to #42. but is now the second longest running single in the top 75 along with Gimme More, only beating BOMT by 4 weeks, so I think POM can easily make 5 more weeks considering it is still at #37 on iTunes.
Break The Ice is up two positions, at number 23, it is released on physicals this week so hopefully it can make the top ten. It is at #15 on iTunes at the moment so make sure you buy a copy if you haven't already.
Blackout is up 13 positions from last week, landing at #43 so BTI is definitely helping 'Blackout' get closer to hitting platinum.
Great news! I really hope BTI can manage to be another top 10 hit for her in the UK! Hopefully the single does help Blackout go platinum too.
'Blackout' was #11 in my nearby HMV today
Obviously that's not the case nationwide, but it was still good to see
anyone knows the site for the UK's midweeks? thanks
Here ya go:
http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67965
LOL thanks
Break The Ice was in the top 15 in yesterday's midweeks. I think this will turn out to be her lowest charting single!
Her lowest charting single peaked at #13, I think she will get there atleast. It's at [7+7] atm.
I agree with you. It'll probably be more successful then quite a few of her other singles anyways. Plus, BTI is already helping the album to sell more and rise in the albums chart.
I think BTI may be one of her lowest charting singles, but I do think that it will have alot more endurance then ILRNR, DLMBTLTK, etc.
Yeah, I think this single still has the potential to hang around longer. Hopefully by some chance it can rise next week or something to give it a better peak. It still made top 15 though which is good.
Wow, Blackout has went up to #25 this week from #43! Great news!
Break The Ice REALLY has helped Blackout, I hope it can get back into the top twenty next week!
agreed. Blackout was listed as Top 40 all week in the midweeks so 25 is great! Shame BTI slipped a couple of places but as said at least its still Top 15. Maybe it can rise with an extra day of physicals on sale this week!
UK chart positions for Britney this week:
"Piece Of Me" - down 7 spots from #40 to #47.
"Break The Ice" - down 2 spots from #15 to #17.
"Blackout" - up 6 spots from #25 to #19.
Well...we were all expecting BTI to fall on the chart, but at least it was only 2 spots. POM is doing great, one of the most enduring singles for Britney in the UK and still Top50 after many weeks. Blackout reached one of the highest positions in a long time climbing to the Top20 once again and showing no signs of slowing down
Could Blackout make it back into the top 15?
some Britney total album sales info from Music Week mag including all sales up to Sat 26/4/08:
Baby One More Time (1,200,368)
Oops I Did It Again (902,028)
Britney (455,037)
In The Zone (528,002)
Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (886,635)
Blackout (sold 200,000th copy last week)
Did My Prerogative really sell that much 200,000 looks alot compared to Everytimes run and only sold 202,000
Ahhh yep thats true, still really suprising though ain't it when you look at its run.
I still think those sales figures for both "My Prerogative" and "Do Somethin" are pretty exagerated... I believe MP sold around 100,000 and DS sold around 60,000 copies.
My Prerogative has been officially certified silver so that means it has sold 200k or more...
Piece of Me falls 7 positions at #54 on it's 20th week within the top 75, and it is less then 20,000 copies away from being certified, and if it make 3 more weeks on the chart it will be her longest running single ever!
Break The Ice 4 spots to #21, which is not that bad, bringing her sales to a modest 40k.
Blackout stays in the same position as last week staying at #19...hopefully it will continue to generate steady sales!
UK chart positions for Britney this week:
"Piece Of Me" - down 5 spots from #54 to #59.
"Break The Ice" - down 10 spots from #21 to #31.
"Blackout" - down 8 spots from #19 to #27.
'Blackout' is at #39 in the Top 20 Albums of 2008 this week, bringing total sales of the album to 217,557.
'Break The Ice' has fallen to #38.
Thanks for the updates =D and what about POM? did it leave the chart?
Where are The Searchers and Bobby Vee today in the album chart please?
Thanks if anyone knows as a friend has bet me that Bobby Vee will be higher!!!
Blackout is at #51, not #39 =S
"Piece Of Me" is at #13 in this week's Top 20 Singles of 2008, selling 179,755 copies.
Can you not get Ima banned or something for being a general a-hole!
"Blackout" is at #39 in this week's Top 40 Albums of 2008, selling this year 110,000 copies, bringing it's total sales to 223,000.
Uk chart update:
Piece Of Me - after 23 weeks on the chart, it leaves the top75 this week.
Break The Ice - falls 15 spots from #43 to #58
Blackout - falls 14 spots from #53 to #67
I hope that Blackout can gain some ground next week, or atleast stay in the chart for a little bit longer. BTI has done pretty well considering it's peak.
Thanks Jark, I will add it to the main page.
BTI # 77 (lw #58)
Blackout leaves the top 100 albums chart.
The top 100
That's not good, but hopefully 'Radar' will get it back up there and it can manage to surpass platinum status.
Total sales from 'Blackout' era
Gimme More - 170,500 (Silver)
Blackout - 228,557 (Gold)
Piece Of Me - 185,105 (Silver)
Break The Ice - 52,784
Ooooh thanks for those
No problem.
'Break The Ice' has climbed back in the Top 75, climbing from #77 to #71.
Ooh, that's pretty cool. I just noticed after looking through the main thread that "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" was the only single that re-entered into the top 75 besides BTI now. They've both sold around the same amount right now too.
Total sales of 'Piece Of Me' are 186,605.
Thanks for the updated number.
Total sales of 'Piece Of Me' are 180,980.
This week Break The Ice is #79 (lw #71) and Piece Of Me #91 (lw #82)
http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_singles.php
blackout number 191 this week in UK
'Piece Of Me' has climbed 1 place to #90 this week in the UK Singles Chart.
'Break The Ice' has fallen to #82 this week in the UK Singles Chart.
In the UK, the total sales for 'Piece Of Me' are 189,205.
This weeks update -
Break the ice falls from 79 to 82
Piece of me climbs from 91 to 90
Cool to know that POM is still in the top 100
Piece of me falls to 113.
Break the ice falls to 129.
Total sales for Piece Of Me is: 190,755 copies and she is number 17 in top 40 UK singles 2008.
Blackout sales in 2008 is 117,500 copies and she is number 48 in UK's albums 2008.
Wow! 'Piece Of Me' is in front of 'Break The Ice'!
I wonder if POM will eventually hit 200k? I think it could, I also think that 'Blackout' will eventually hit platinum status in the UK and in the US...once her new album is out. You know how the last album always gets a spike in sales, and it is still selling about 1k in the UK a week.
I would LOVE for Blackout to his platinum status in the U.S.! It still has a ways to go though. I think POM will eventually hit 200k in the UK too whether it's sooner or later.
Well it will eventually...it might take it a year or so but it will hit it.
I hope 'Blackout' would reach 300,000 by this year, but I think we might have to wait a bit longer...
This week, in the Top 40 Singles of 2008, 'Piece Of Me' has fallen to #20, with total sales of 192,805.
Also, could someone post the full Top 200 chart runs for the Blackout era. Thanks.
In the UK Singles Chart, 'Break The Ice' has re-entered at #94.
This week Break The Ice is #100.
Glad it's still Top 100.
It definitely helps being on the NOW CD.
Most songs from the NOW album are in the Top 100.
It's so strange to think that 'Sometimes' sold more than 'Toxic'
Who knows?
I hope 'Piece Of Me' can pass 200,000.
25 23 Britney Spears Piece of me 195000 - Sales in UK.
Yeah it will pass 200k within a month.
Total sales of 'Piece Of Me' are now 195,000.
Ooh, that's awesome. 200k shouldn't be far off now!
Definitely over 200,000 by mid-September.
54 Blackout - Britney Spears 121,500 sales in this year.
Total sales in Uk is 236,000.
It's ok.
He could be talking about albums sales? Although that number is smaller than what's posted in the first post...
No, he does mean Piece Of Me - he posted Blackout before. But can you please post us your source.
Oh, OK. But if you post total sales in the future, can you please put what the sales are for.
That's less than what's in the main post so I'm totally confused!
Maybe we can be biased and keep the higher estimate.
Nevertheless, Piece Of Me has sold more than what it's posted on the 2008 Year-to-date chart, cause that only counts sales for 2008 and Piece Of Me sold some copies as a an album download track in 2007 when Blackout was released.
True...but we would just be making up an estimate, so....
Yes, but as it would've been down in the charts, it wouldn't have had that many sales, not making a difference to the total sales.
It probably had enough sales to push it over 200k, but that's it.
Yeah, because it was very low in the charts in 2007, so it probably would've only had around 11,000 sales in 2007 or something.
But that's amazing, isn't it? It means "Piece Of Me" has sold more than the likes of "Everytime", "My Prerogative" or "Me Against The Music" which is pretty impressive considering how much the music business has changed.
Not really. The last sales update for Everytime was at least a year ago, so there must be more sales - I would say around 209,000. And Piece Of Me has sold around 206,000 - and it's not impressive for My Prerogative and Me Against The Music - because My Prerogative peaked lower, and Me Against The Music peaked the same.

Dropped out the Top 200 this week. I fear my Platinum dreams are fading! Hopefully the new album will drive Blackout's sales up when its released as Blackout will be cheap everywhere and on the rack next to the new one as often happens
Thanks for the info
Thanks for the information. First post updated.
This week, Piece Of Me is at #25, selling 195,750 this year.
thanks for info nice! Should creep over 200k ok. Has the record company bothered to get it certified silver i wonder (prob not since they want to forget Blackout apparently)
Are those really the official sales figures for 'Break The Ice'? That doesn't seem right to me... I didn't think it sold quite 80k.

wow thanks Simon. great chart run in top 200.
Chart runs for Womanizer, Circus, and the album have been updated.
Circus was #61 in the Year End Chart, with sales of 225,500. Womanizer also ended up at #34 in the Year End.
Womanizer is Britney's 6th best selling single of all time in the UK
1 Baby One More Time 1,445,000
2 Oops I dit it Again 423.000
3 Sometimes 414,000
4 Born to Make you Happy 309.000
5 Toxic 284.000
6 Womanizer 274.660
7 (You drive Me)Crazy 257.000
8 Everytime 214.000
9 PIece of me 210.000
10 Lucky 203.000
It will definitely overtake Toxic soon, and has a big chance of overtaking BTMYH as well.
It's Britney's second best selling single after BOMT in America and overall ww.
Piece Of Me ended up at #47 in the 2008 Year End chart with sales of 210,750. Which means it's total sales must be around 217,000.
Sales for Womanizer, Circus and the album have been updated.
And Womanizer is now Britney's 5th biggest selling single of her career in the UK.
UPDATED by Dylan.
Hehe.
Anyone know if womanizer has outsold/close to outselling BTMYH yet?
So have we got any updated sales figures for Womanizer, Circus, and the album? I haven't seen any numbers for a few weeks on updated totals or anything.
I have been estimating from looking at how certain songs in front and behind her on the chart have been selling...
Ooh ok. I noticed that the numbers looked a bit higher although I figured the single Circus would've sold more by now. Including this past week, isn't it at 100k now?
I've actually been estimating low as to avoid trolls from complaining. lmfao.
I know it's not at 100k yet, for sure.
The album Circus hasn't sold 300,000 but it has shipped that amount which is why it's Platinum.
UPDATED.
Sales report for Circus have not come in but it has atleast sold 11-12k this week as #24 (Rudenko) sold 10,575 copies this week. That brings it's sales to 101k+. And Womanizer is now Britney's 4th biggest selling single!
Circus also is holding steady only falling 3 spots to #53 on the album charts, bringing it's total sales to 277k+. Should hit platinum status within a month or two! I think it has a chance of scraping double platinum since she is still set to tour this Summer, and IYSA will deffinitely help it get back in the top 40.
Circus and Blackout at quite low.
AND has already sold more than Blackout, which has been out for over a year!
I see what youre saying but i see it only trickle selling now, unless the Tour helps her alot. Yes it will probably climb but i wonder how high.
Also, how many people are going to see her in the UK? few hundred thousand? Most of them probably already have the album
Well it's not so much that the people actually seeing the tour will help album sales, but more so the hype that will come with her when she is in the UK. Radio will most likely kiss her ass and media outlets will be whoring her name in a relation to her music. It's happened in America, She starts touring her in only a week and for the first time in her career she has three songs in the top 40 on mediabase, and If You Seek Amy doesn't even have an official radio release date.
And I think IYSA will help get Circus back up on the album charts, because for the past 3 months the only promo the album has gotten is Circus and Womanizer, which were major sales drivers during Christmas. So hopefully a new single will get people buying enough again to get her back in the top 20... and plus Britney's albums have always done this in between singles, since the Britney era...Circus has shown the most endurance out of all her studio albums since OIDIA.
The Hits are counting down the 100 biggest selling female singles of the 21st Century and Toxic was #41 with sales of 330,000 - just thought you might like to know
Really!? Thanks for sharing!
Because you know. Tours make albums and singles just FLOP.
You're logic is just spectacular, ima!
PS - Get a better internet connection CHEERS!
UPDATED.
#100 this week in UK last week #122. Circus has been 2 weeks out of top 100, now is back If U Seek Amy helping

It was actually certified platinum quite a while ago due to shipments.
Total sales for Circus single:
Circus 161,285
Good sales for single with peak position out of top 10.
Updated, Circus reappears in the top 75 at number 70. Hopefully it will continue to rise with the physical release of Amy and the tour approaching.
53 Circus - Britney Spears 75,000 - (301,000)
I don't suppose anyone has a list of all her UK single (and album) sales in order from biggest to smallest selling?
Do you mean UK sales, or worldwide?
In terms of worldwide, off've the top of my head, the album order is Baby One More Time (25mill), Oops (17mill), Britney (9mill), In The Zone (7.7mill), Circus (3.1mill), Blackout (about 2.2mill).
The singles will be available on her wikipedia discography page, but if I remember correctly, they're in order of platinum/gold/silver certification, rather than specific sales...
1.Baby One More Time (1,445,000)
2.Oops... I Did It Again (423,000)
3.Sometimes (414,000)
4.Womanizer (359,695)
5.Toxic (330,000)
6.Born To Make You Happy (309,000)
7.(You Drive Me) Crazy (257,000)

9.Piece Of Me (210,750)
10.Lucky (203,000)
11.Gimme More (173,950)
12.Circus (164,660)
13.Stronger (163,000)
14.Slave 4 U (154,000)
15.My Prerogative (152,000)
16.Me Against The Music Ft. Madonna (128,000)
17.I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman (125,000)
18.Overprotected (124,000)
19.Do Somethin' (90,000)
20.Break The Ice (83,122)
21.Boys (75,000)
22.Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know (67,000)
23.If You Seek Amy (57,380)
24.I Love Rock N' Roll (51,000)
Its so weird how Circus really isnt that far behind the far more successful Gimme More!
Yeah, Circus did really well when it comes to sales. I would say it was a hit for her in the UK, sales are certainly more important then a chart position.
I think the singles are just being released too late in the UK and rest of Europe. I get that singles are usually released 3 months a part from one another but the whole thing with Circus being released not too long after Womanizer kinda threw things off. Australia gets the single releases at the rate the USA is going for the most part and the peaks and chart runs seem to be much better in both areas. I'm just thinking the hype wears off before the singles are getting to be officially released. Hopefully the tour brings back more attention to the singles and album since she normally doesn't do promo very much at all in Europe.

great sales!
#73 (60) in UK this week
Boo at falling again but at least it's still top 75.
Oooh I see 'Circus' has managed to go Platinum!
'In the Zone' deserved so much more too!
I think it's sad her best album by FAR, is her worst selling album to date (Blackout).
It upsets me greatly.
Maybe just enough to get it platinum in the US... I hope.
Well it's already sold enough to be certified platinum, Jive is just retarded and don't want to pay for the certification.
Does anyone have updated Blackout sales? I'm curious to know how close the album is to platinum status in both the US and UK right now...

Any sales for '3'?
Hi,
VH1 have been showing an Official top 20 countdown for her singles, so thought i'd put up the results for your viewing.
Apparently, it's an official chart made up of sales from The Official Charts Company. Unfortunately I tuned in halfway through, so I haven't got the sales figures they put up for the songs outside the top 10.
1. ...Baby One More Time - 1,500,000 - #1

Woah, great to see she's got 3 Gold singles!! I'm guessing 'Gimme More' and possibly 'Circus' are also over 200,000...
Hello peeps,
Does anybody know the sales figures for Radar? I was just wondering if it is her worst selling single in the UK. I know it had the worst charting position, but before it reached its peak, it had been on digital sale for roughly 2 years.
I'd hate to think of such a quality song being her worst, i'm much happier to think Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know is instead
Thank you in advance.

When Glee is back on air in Britain Britney's singles will get a boost and may be some of them like Circus/Stronger etc. will be certificated Silver.
I'm still gutted 'Circus' only peaked at #13 it was my favourite song from the 'Circus era' and IMO it deserved Top 5 at least.
Hope her upcoming album will pack hits that peak within the Top 10 I need me some new Britney material badlyy
Yeah it's peaked out of top 10, but the sales were very good, it's close to 200,000k, which is really good for that bad position.
Does anyone know the current UK sales of 'Blackout'; I badly want that album certified platinum.
I read somewhere that it has sold 300,000 but it hasn't been certified Platinum.
Welcome to the forum btw
I think it didn't sold 300,000k in UK yet, maybe 280-290k
Blackout needs to be certified Platinum in the US too (or has it been?) She's not that far off 1m but the album's not selling that much anymore too :/
YOU'RE FORGIVEN.
PM an admin and ask about it, I'm not completely sure tbh.
Contact Slick.
Wow, that's a huge jump in sales......surely not all from the Glee effect?
Just thought i'd put the information on the first page into a list, from best to worst selling...

Hold It Against Me drops 10 places to 18 in the UK top 40.
Well, I was reading the other day about how UK singles are changing, as soon as a song hits radio, it will be available to download from iTunes etc.
What do you guys think this will do for Britneys following singles, apart from Radar all of her other 26 singles have peaked in the Top 20, do you think these new rules will see an end to this?
Not if she promotes her material.
'Hold It Against Me' sold 15,810 last week bringing its total run so far to 82,520
^^ thanks, update first post!
total is 82,010
#06 (38,779)

I wownder if it will get 100k before the video premiere, that would be a very good achievement, and would make it her 21st best selling UK single so far.
Here's a pic of the physical:
I wonder how much the video will help this... It's not really doing as well as planned and it's already about to fall out the top 30 on iTunes, I can't see it getting back in the top 10, though I hope I'm wrong!
It's already starting to rise again in quite a few iTunes stores, probably due to exposure from comparisons with Born This Way? So at least should stay steady until the video release.
It's because she needs to get her ass out there and start promoting right after the video is released. It has been a f***ing month and NO promo at all! I mean DAMN.
Yeah, sorry to bring up Lady GaGa again... but her single just came out yesterday and she's already doing a Grammys performance tomorrow. Also, she's performing and doing an interview on Jay Leno in a few days too.
Of course, I'm not trying to say that she's been slacking though. She's still working hard on the album (which kind of puzzles me as she's been working on it the last 2 years as well?). Also, Brit has a family and Lady GaGa obviously doesn't... lol.
She said she's going to do a lot of promo so I have faith! I'm sure it will start soon. And promo around the album release itself is what matters the most anyways. It's not so much about the single sales.

hahaha gurrrl it's a long story.
So if my guesstimation is correct, HIAM has passed the 90k mark this week?
I would say pretty good for it's 4th week and still no video or promo.
yes around 92,000+ i think
So it should 100,000 by the end of this week.
It would already surpass sales of 'My Prerogative', 'Do Somethin', 'Boys', 'I Love Rock N Roll', 'Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know' and obviously 'Radar'.
For anybody who didn't know (cos I didn't), there is 3 track Manon Dave remix EP available on UK iTunes.
I can't wait till my physical copy arrives; hope it has a nice sticker like the Korean version.
UK Chart run:
Hold It Against Me - 6-8-18-26-35
Sales should be at 100,000 now.
in think it's around 104,000+
I wonder if the video will help her surpass her peak position of HIAM.
According to the YTD thread in Charts, HIAM has sold 103,700 copies in the UK.
This weeks sales should see it surpass If U Seek Amy, and finally break into the top 20 biggest selling Britney songs.........underperformed like crazy though.
Well, I guess for a third single off an album, If U Seek Amy is around about correct.......however Hold It Against Me, as the first single, should be much higher, in the top 10 even.
So....even the video couldn't help this single.
The single dropped to #38 this week, and will very likely drop out of the top 40 next week, meaning only 6 weeks in the top 40.
Disappointing, very disappointing.
Confused why it's only this country that have not really embraced the come back.
I'm actually quite afraid for the album, I have a horrible feeling it'll go top 20, then drop like a stone.
Well, hopefully we get some promo in the UK too.
And the single isn't exactly dropping that much on iTunes still. It's been hanging around the lower range of the 30s for the past few days at least... and hasn't really moved. So it could be quite a bit worse.
I don't think she is going to promote in the UK for HIAM, as she starting in the US in late March.
Just because GMA is the first officially announced bit of promo, doesn't mean it will be the first. She promoted in the UK before the US last time for the Circus album...
113,600 is the updated sales for HIAM in the UK after this past week.
Which means it will have overtaken My Prerogative, but then has to sell over 20,000 more to overtake Overprotected and 3.
It will easily sell 20,000 more even if it does barely. She is kicking in promo now, so it will help alot even if she only performs 'Till The World Ends'.

Thanks Neil. Glad to see it still in the top 40.

Jay any sales info?
If only she would put aside a week per single to come to the UK. The European press would come to her in London. She just has to show up, do some chat shows and do a live lounge on Radio One and maybe X Factor/Strictly. Part of the reason Rihanna and Buble are so successful here is because they maintain visibility in the media on their terms.

Toxic is #247 on UK iTunes now!
It was played quite extensively on an episode of Big Brother (Tuesday night I think), which would explain that.
^It's 59p on iTunes
Someone needs to update this. I am out of tune with the UK.

02 465,031 Oops...I Did It Again

G'wan, "Sometimes"! Slaying those faves A shame "Piece of Me" isn't up there too, but it was released in a low-sales climate.
The Singles Collection has been moved to the budget albums chart, entering at #30 following the broadcast of Glee's Britney 2.0 last week.
so it didn't re-enter in top 200 albums chart?
oh boo, wanted to see in top 200 albums again Thanks for explanation, first time heard for that budget chart.

I wonder why Blackout wasn't re-certified Platinum. In 2008 it was on around 280,000 sales right?
Also, Femme Fatale passed 100,000 sales too right? Its 2011 EOY figure was around 91,000 I remember.
